How to tell if children’s slippers bought online really fit

Try new children’s slippers on a clean indoor floor as soon as they arrive. Use the socks your child wears to nursery or school. Sitting still for a moment will not show how the pair behaves in use.
Five checks before keeping the pair
- Measure both feet while standing and compare the length with the model’s size table.
- The foot should enter without being forced.
- Toes should move freely, with no pressure from above or the sides.
- The heel should stay in place when walking and turning, without overtightening the strap.
- After a few minutes, look for pressure marks and ask where the child feels discomfort.
Let your child walk, turn, sit and stand. Younger children may struggle to explain a poor fit, so watch for a changed step or reluctance to wear the slippers.
Do not keep an uncomfortable pair hoping the child will grow into it. Compare a better size or shape among our children’s slippers. Persistent pain or a noticeable limp warrants advice from a healthcare professional.
